The Lithotripsy that Wasn't

I had the lithotripsy scheduled today. We got up early and went to the hospital. Lori left me there...

And it turned out that the lithotripsy machine was broken, and was still broken without further information by the time the doctor had to go to the rest of his schedule.

So I got released about 10, put on my clothes, and walked the few blocks to work. I was even the first person in the office today, unless everyone else has come and gone elsewhere.

(no subject)

This week, two of my friends have gotten laid off from their jobs. Ulp.

I am reminded of Newlan's Truism:
An acceptable level of unemployment means that the government economist to whom it is acceptable still has a job.
