Crafts for the Internet Age

So, a week ago, I was playing my Big Bopper Pandora station for my father-in-law. He enjoyed the music, and asked if there was any way to burn it to CD. Well, this weekend is Father's Day, and more surprisingly, I remembered ahead of time that Father's Day was coming.

So for a week, I listened to the Big Bopper radio, and whenever a song came on that I felt happy about owning for myself, I hit "Buy on iTunes". That gave me 17 songs, which would have felt like a complete CD to me, except that the songs are an average of two minutes long. So we padded it to an hour by adding songs from Lori's collection.

A bit of googling for a template for a cover found http://www.iworkcommunity.com/content/folded-cd-dvd-sleeve, and searching Flickr for "classic car" found this Creative Commons-licensed picture: http://www.flickr.com/photos/destinysagent/2718214964/ . A very little bit of work in Pages gave me this:

I feel like I'm only one step above construction paper and scissors here, but the result is really pretty nifty. I think Les will be quite pleased.
